Inception

The foundation was set up in 1985 on the occasion of the 80th Birthday of Gerhard Günnewig (born 05.05.1905).
Gerhard Günnewig was one of the most prominent German private hoteliers. He died on 27.02.1994.

 

Goals

To individually develop trainees and equip them with practical skills and a broad knowledge of the hospitality industry. The foundation promotes overseas assignments practicularly to encourage young people to gain experience abroad.

The develop people for the future needs of the hospitality industry, people who are able to deliver quality service consistently. International experience will motivate others, project a positive image and will convince applicants to develop a career in the hospitality industry.
