Alfred Biolek was the inspiration for "Bio's Bar"

and the ambience was designed in a style fully consistent with this famous namesake and enhanced with the personal items he had become very fond of during his long television life. Television awards, pictures and works of art are presented on several walls. For example, his well-known portrait photo, taken by Annie Leibowitz, a letter from Monty Python and the famous serviette on which Sir Peter Ustinov drew a sketch of him.

Of course, Alfred Biolek’s culinary side was not forgotten either and the culinary offerings include not only the wine he picked out specially but also the dishes from the numerous books written by this TV chef.

Our small selection of meals carries Alfred Biolek’s culinary ideas forward. Every day, we offer two changing 4-course menus with a Mediterranean flair, for which we use fresh regional and seasonal products.

Opened for breakfast from 6 a.m. to 10.30 a.m.
and evenings from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Closed on Sunday evenings
(The restaurant and kitchen are opened from 5 p.m. and also on Sunday evenings when events are on in the Lanxess arena.)

The small but fine selection of wines comes from the outstanding wine connoisseur Dr. Alfred Biolek and embraces wines from top German and European areas.
